Hi, I'm Cassidy. I'm a wife to my high school sweetheart, a mama to our two littles, and the quilter behind Eben Quilting Co. I sew from our little home in Tennessee, usually during nap time or after bedtime, and sometimes while Legos are being built and baby dolls are rocked to sleep.
A few months after our second baby was born, I found myself desperately needing a creative outlet. My grandmother, Linda, offered to teach me how to sew and quilt. She even gave me her forty-year-old sewing machine, which she had kept in pristine condition until the day she could pass it on.
Back then, she gave me more than a machine. She gave me a heritage, and it changed my life.
I have always wanted a small business of my own, something I could work on in the margins of motherhood and alongside my wifely duties, something that truly serves others and speaks to their hearts. By the Lord's grace, that's exactly what Eben has become.
“And those twelve stones (or “eben” in Hebrew), which they took out of the Jordan, Joshua set up at Gilgal. And he said to the people of Israel, “When your children ask their fathers in times to come, “What do these stones mean?’ then you shall let your children know, ‘Israel passed over this Jordan on dry ground.’ For the Lord your God dried up the waters of the Jordan for you until you passed over, as the Lord your God did to the Red Sea, which he dried up for us until we passed over, so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the hand of the Lord is mighty, that you may fear the Lord your God forever.”
Joshua 4:20–24
Each quilt is meant to be one of those stones. Whether it's wrapped around a new baby, folded at the end of a bed, or handed down years from now, I pray it reminds your family of just how much the Lord loves you and all the things He wants to do for you. That He is mighty and good.
With love,
Cassidy
